OVERVIEW DHS
Department of Health Services, Dhemaji, Assam is commited to provide preventive, promotive, curative,and quality health services at an affordable price to the people of Assam. Department of Health Services (DHS) has an important role in the provision and administration of health services and in order to raise the quality, extend accountability and deliver the services fairly, effectively and courteously. We have important role in administration and providing health care services with accountability and transparently.
Establishment Branch
Duty & Works:- Transfer(Within the District), maintain of service reports, maintain RTI reports etc.
Health Establishment Branch
Duties:- Mainly records of Clinical establishment, supervising U/S Clinical, procurement of emergency medicine and other ……… etc.
Accounts branch
All matter relating to receipt & expenditure of fund including salary advance etc. of office Staff etc. Initiation of Pension file and application of final withdrawal of GPF to Govt. for Sanction, pay bill of the staff any other account related matter.
Budget Branch
Duty:- To estimation & scrutiny of Annual Budget preparation of salary + Non Salary Budget both plan and Non-Plan, Proposal for Celing + Arrear Salary / DA / Medical Re-Imburstment & TC allotment.
Statistics Branch
Collection, Compilation of Health Data, Preparation of reports on Medical & Health Data and Registration of Birth & Death.
Purchase Board
Duty :- Issue & Notice Inviting tender and Bid document for purchases of office stationery and vehicle hiring(if needed) etc. and approval of the Items and other correspondence relating to purchases, release of earnest money, deeds of agreement against the approved items etc.
State Health Education Bureau
To educate regarding prevention for diseases, and taking care for diseases people.
T.B. Control Programme (RNTCP)
To control Tuberculosis in the State for which programme TNCP & RNTPC is used.
Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB)
To use National Programme for Control of Blindness
Zonal Leprosy Office
To eradicate Leprosy from the State.
National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP)
To control the use of Tobacco and to make awareness among the people about the harmful effects of Tobacco use.
National Programme for Prevention and Control of Fluorosis (NPPCF)
To prevent and control the effect of Fluoride the programme National Programme for Prevention and Control of Fluorosis (NPPCF).
National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Programme
To control the various diseases due to deficiency of iodine in the State and to make the people aware against the deficiency the programme National Iodine Deficiency Disorder Control Programme is used.
National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness.
To prevent avoidable hearing lost, diagnose treatment of hear problem responsible for hearing lost and rehabilitate the person suffering with deafness National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness.
National Mental Health
Duty – Treatment and Rehabilitation and Mentally disordered people in the society. Conducting training and awareness programme for Doctors, Nurses, Paramedical Staffs.
Overview National Health Mission
About NHM
The National Health Mission, envisages attainment of universal access to equitable, affordable and quality health care services in the State of Assam. A lot of efforts have been given for ensuring quality in services of health which is one of the important mandates under the National Health Mission. Another important aspect of NHM, Assam is strengthening of community participation in health service delivery system. Supportive supervision and monitoring system is an integral mandate of NHM, Assam. Generating demand by creating awareness is also given equal emphasis.
NHM gives a lot of emphasis in reaching the unreached, viz. the population living in char and tea garden areas well as the urban slum.
The ASHA programme, considered to be the foundation of NHM, Assam is rendering laudable voluntary services covering all the villages and urban population.
What We Do
- We support to provide healthcare to rural population throughout the State with special focus on districts which have weak public health indicators and for weak infrastructure to bring about reduction in child and maternal mortality. We support to improve universal access to public services for food and nutrition, sanitation and hygiene and universal access to public health care services with emphasis on services addressing women’s and children’s health and universal immunization. We support to improve access to integrated comprehensive primary health care to bring about population stabilization. We support to promote healthy life styles
