Vision:

Empowering women and children to achieve their full potential and contributing to the overall development of the society.

 

Mission:

To promote the social and economic empowerment of women and children, and to ensure their rights and welfare through effective policies, programs, and services.

 

Objectives:

 

1. To promote gender equality and women's empowerment through education, training, and economic opportunities.

2. To ensure the welfare and protection of children, including those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged, or exploited.

3. To provide support services for women and children, including healthcare, nutrition, and education.

4. To promote community participation and involvement in the development and implementation of programs and policies for women and children.

 

Key Programs and Schemes:

 

  1. Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS): A program to provide nutrition, healthcare of adolescent , lactating and pregnant along with education to children below 6 years.
  2. Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 :  Poshan Abhiyaan is Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition which is also known as National Nutrition Mission. The Poshan Abhiyaan Scheme is basically a flagship scheme of the government of India with an aim to improve the nutritional outcomes of the children, the pregnant women and lactating mothers. The scheme was launched in the year 2018.

POSHAN Tracker application:-

The purpose of POSHAN Tracker application is to provide a 360-degree view of the activities of the Anganwadi Centre (AWC), service deliveries of Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) and complete beneficiary management for pregnant women, lactating mothers and children.

MISSION SHAKTI : Mission Shakti is a scheme in mission mode aimed at strengthening interventions for women safety, security & empowerment. Mission Shakti has two sub-schemes - 'Sambal' and 'Samarthya'. In the SAMBAL sub-scheme, which is for safety and security of women, the existing scheme of One Stop Centre (OSC), Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) have been included with modifications and a new component of Nari Adalat - women collective has been added and SAMARTHYA sub-scheme for empowerment of women  the existing scheme of Shakti Sadan ,Palna -National Creche and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)

Achievements:

1. Increased enrolment of girls in schools under BBBP.

2. Improved nutrition and healthcare outcomes for children under ICDS.

3. Enhanced economic empowerment of women through Mission Shakti.

4. Strengthened child protection services and support systems.

 

Challenges:

 

1. Addressing the persistent gender gap in education and economic opportunities.

2. Ensuring the effective implementation of programs and schemes at the grassroots level.

3. Addressing the growing concerns of child protection and welfare.

4. Promoting community participation and involvement in the development and implementation of programs and policies.

 

Future Plans:

 

1. Scaling up successful programs and schemes to reach more beneficiaries.

2. Strengthening partnerships with civil society organizations, NGOs, and private sector entities.

3. Leveraging technology to improve service delivery and accessibility.

4. Enhancing capacity building and training programs for officials and stakeholders.
